All Signal. Zero Noise.

THE SIGNAL

Thursday was a funding scare, not a stock story. QQQ $704.47 (-2.86%) fell far harder than SPY $763.96 (-1.18%), while IWM $276.67 (+0.07%) did not move. The damage sat in one place: the AI buildout and everything that powers it.

The tell: the pain climbed the supply chain. Chips fell, but the builders and power producers fell harder. GEV $827.42 (-10.64%) and VST $140.83 (-9.81%) were the two weakest names in our universe, followed by AMD $507.93 (-8.10%), PWR $552.44 (-8.10%) and VRT $195.59 (-7.81%). NVDA $212.21 (-4.40%) traded 125.4 million shares, the heaviest tape on the board.

Reporting on the session ties the selling to rising oil prices on Middle East tensions, inflation worries and fresh doubts about how the AI buildout gets funded if borrowing costs rise. Meta’s negative free cash flow was cited as the example. Oil producers barely moved: XOM $178.23 (+0.08%), CVX $226.68 (-0.04%). Defense was the exception, with LMT $589.91 (+6.96%) rising on earnings.

TODAY’S TOP CALLS

GEV $827.42 (-10.64%) — The weakest name in our universe, with no company news in the feed. Power equipment makers are being repriced as the funding question spreads, and per reporting earnings are due next week.

AMD $507.93 (-8.10%) — Per reporting, the chip move was about financing rather than demand: rising crude, inflation worries and doubts over how long the AI spending can be funded.

LMT $589.91 (+6.96%) — The best performer in our universe. Per reporting, Lockheed beat third-quarter estimates and raised its full-year outlook. Money went where the earnings are real.
