Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads

Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:

After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.

The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.

“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”

Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.

All Signal. Zero Noise.

THE SIGNAL

Friday was a rotation, not a selloff. The index tape barely moved: SPY $759.97 (-0.52%), QQQ $704.40 (-0.01%), IWM $275.75 (-0.33%). Underneath, money moved hard into one place. All four of our oil names closed higher, and the sector fund did it on the heaviest volume in the energy complex: XLE $69.33 (+2.60%) on 38.7 million shares.

The second tell is what did not bounce. The grid builders that broke on Thursday kept sliding on Friday. GE Vernova traded as low as $796.42 before closing at $815.00, and Quanta fell again. Chips split: memory and foundry rose while Nvidia slipped. Speculative growth found buyers again in space and drones.

One of the loudest moves was outside tech. Newmont was among the two hardest-hit names in the universe after its earnings call warned of higher costs next year, per reporting. Gold miners rarely lead a risk-off day; this one was company-specific.

TODAY’S TOP CALLS

CVX $233.21 (+2.88%) — The strongest of four oil names that all rose together. When every name in a sector moves in step, it is a sector bid, not a stock story.

NEM $108.87 (-4.59%) — The largest gold miner fell after its quarterly call flagged rising unit costs ahead, per reporting. Watch whether the rest of the group follows or whether this stays a one-company repricing.

AVAV $123.25 (+4.72%) — The biggest gainer in the universe, with no company news in our feed. Drones and space traded as one risk-on block.

ON THE WATCHLIST

XLE, CVX, XOM, OXY, GEV, PWR, VRT, MU, AMD, NEM, HIMS, AVAV, RKLB, RDW, LMT, RTX
