THE SIGNAL

Tuesday’s session drew a hard line between speculative growth and safety-trade defense names. Micron ripped 5.0% after reiterating a fully-booked DDR5 lineup — Zacks flagged a 512GB DDR5 module validated by both AMD and Intel, a reminder that the AI trade has quietly become a memory trade. Archer Aviation, Rocket Lab, and Northrop’s own space-adjacent peers piled into the same rotation, pushing Drones & Autonomous and Emerging Space to the top of our sector board even as the news wires offered little concrete reason for the eVTOL move specifically — Zacks was actually running a bearish comparison on Archer that same morning. That gap between price and narrative is the tell of the day.

The other half of the story is defense’s reversal. Northrop Grumman dropped 3.2% and Lockheed fell 2.4% on a session where the only company-specific news was a routine $11.5 million Air Force contract modification for Northrop — nothing that explains a move of this size. When a sector this steady drops hardest with the calmest headlines, it usually means positioning, not fundamentals, did the damage.

Healthcare added its own wrinkle: Hims & Hers climbed 3.7% on the same day three separate securities class-action law firms put out notices over its data-privacy and billing practices. The tape shrugged off the litigation overhang entirely — for now.

TODAY’S TOP CALLS

MU $1,096.16 (+5.0%) — Memory led every complex higher after DDR5 capacity validation from both AMD and Intel; this is the AI trade’s supply-chain layer, not just the chip layer.

ACHR $5.69 (+4.79%) — Archer led a broad eVTOL/space rally with no matching news catalyst; a name to watch for whether the move holds or fades.

NOC $509.86 (-3.19%) — Northrop led defense lower on a quiet news day, the sharpest sector reversal of the session.
